Prof. Israel Gilad - Extension of Liability in Tort in the new Israeli jurisprudence.

Adv. Sigal Schlimoff - The legal liability of bank directors.

Adv. Tami Greenberg - How to tame a wild horse.

Adv. Ram Pardes - The rate of judgment in the atmosphere of low interest rates.

Stephan Lewis - on the 2015 Insurance Act in England.

followed by short resumes of recent judgments by Adv. Yoav Salomon, Adv. Nathan Ron, Adv. Peggy Sharon, Adv. Tami Karet and Adv. Michael Lev.

1 October 2013 - A get-together and lunch at the Carlton Hotel. Lecture:  Has the Period of Widening of Tort Liability Come to its End? Panel Discussion: How to resolve a possible conflict in a situation when a lawyer is appointed by the insurance company on behalf of the insured. During the second part of the meeting, 12 recent insurance cases were reviewed.

27 February 2012 - Our bi-annual get together and lunch at the Avenue Event Hall  in Airport City, including lectures on Insurance Contract Law, Class Actions and duplicity between pension fund payments and tort claim damages.

16 February 2010 - A get together at the Carlton Hotel Tel Aviv.  Guest speaker: Adrian Mecz of Chadbourne & Parke, London on the subject: The Dramatic Effext of WASA v Lexington on the Doctrine of "Follow the Fortunes".  Thirteen additional speakers gave lectures of various lengths in the event.

The Israeli Chapter at a recent AIDA meeting discussed the following subjects:

Terrorism and Insurance; Prescription; Claims made and occurrence policies; The Israel Insurance Contract Law; Product Liability Insurance; Insurance Fraud and The lost years.

200 Participants at AIDA Seminar in Tel Aviv on 11 November 2008

A large turnout welcomed the semi-annual AIDA Israel seminar which took place in Tel Aviv on 11 November, at the Tel Aviv Carlton Hotel.  After a sumptuous lunch the participants heard two main lectures;  by Dr. Adi Eyal, on Restrictive Trade Practices in the field of insurance, and by Judge (Ret.) Dr. Gabriel Kling, former Deputy President of the District Court of Tel Aviv, on the dilemma of lawyers representing more of one insurance companies from the point of view of professional ethics.  Further, presentations took place on current legal topics:  The new bill on Prescription which will come before the Knesset at its next session; New decisions in Israel and the U.K. on the causal connection in insurance and tort law, following the decisions in the CORR case and Anon. v. Sahar; the question of epidemiological proof in Tort cases; the duty of an insurance company to specify the grounds for rejection of an insurance claim on the first opportunity; AIDA Europe; and others.

The meeting was organized and directed by Peter Gad Naschitz, Vice President of World AIDA and Chairman of the Israel chapter.
