Introduction
Welcome to the Spring 2007 issue of AIDA Mail. It has been some time since we had sufficient contributions to publish an AIDA Mail. We are delighted that this is a 'bumper' issue, containing news from a number of National Chapters and Working Parties.
This issue includes reports from the XII World Congress which took place in Buenos Aires on 16-20 October 2006.
The news from National Sections includes contributions from Indonesia, Hungary, Israel, Venezuala, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Italy and the UK, and provides news and details of recent activities and forthcoming events planned by AIDA's Chapters.
The Argentinian Chapter organised a World Congress which, with over 600 delegates, demonstarted the strength of AIDA in Latin America. The two themes - Insurance, Reinsurance and the Impact of Terrorism and The Influence of Scientific and Technological Innovations on Personal Insurance - provoked interesting discussion. Both reports can be found in this issue.
To mirror the success of CILA in Latin America, plans are afoot to launch AIDA Europe. The idea was well supported in Buenos Aires, and an update on plans is included in this issue.
The Legal Developments section includes contributions from Brazil, Germany, Greece and the UK.
