AIDA Europe
AIDA are hoping to set up an organisation for Europe on the same lines as CILA, which has worked so successfully amongst the Spanish sections. An inaugural meeting of AIDA Europe was held on 19 October 2006 at the World Congress in Buenos Aires. The meeting was a great success, and brought to light a keen interest from many members of AIDA, who will all hopefully help to drive the grand idea of AIDA Europe forward.
The steering committee for AIDA Europe (Jerome Kullmann, Mikael Rosenmejer and Colin Croly) are currently liaising with the Italian AIDA Chapter to arrange the first meeting in Rome on 24 May 2007, at the same time as the AIDA Presidential Council meeting. The purpose of the gathering will be to discuss in more detail structure, functions and most importantly ideas of how to develop the concept further within Europe . The IBA Insurance Section have requested that the AIDA Europe committee should also cooperate in a joint seminar in Europe sometime in the early part of 2008. This could also well be a first class way in which to launch AIDA Europe to a wider audience based on interesting and topical presentations.
Further ideas for an active programme will be formulated and circulated some time in the new year, as well as the minutes for the meeting held in Buenos Aires. Anyone who is interested in or would like to contribute to AIDA Europe, please contact the Secretary General, Colin Croly aidaworld@btinternet.com.
